Sandra Bezic - co-producer/director/choreographer
As a five time Canadian Pair Champion, Olympian and World Professional Champion, Sandra Bezic, with her brother Val, enjoyed a successful competitive and performing skating career.
Bezic is one of the most respected and influential members of the figure skating world. A former Olympian and now an internationally acclaimed choreographer, Sandra has been instrumental in the careers of many of the world's greatest skaters. She has choreographed and/or produced over 20 television specials, including the award-winning Carmen on Ice, Kurt Browning's You Must Remember This, and Brian Orser's television special, Night Moves, for which she was awarded a Gemini in Canada and the Golden Rose Festival Award in Montreux, Switzerland. She directed and choreographed all three critically acclaimed Boitano/Witt "Skating" tours. Last season, she add's author to her list of credits with the release of her book, The Passion to Skate: An Intimate View of Figure Skating. This is Sandra's sixth year as director of Discover Stars on Ice. and is now directing the Discover Stars On Ice tour for the 12 consecutive season.
Sandra continues to either produce, direct or choreograph for television and live skating shows. She also appears in front of the camera as a commentator for NBC.
Michael Seibert - associate director/choreographer
"Form the beginning of my skating career I've been fascinated by the total performance picture - music, steps and costume - all the elements that project and communicate a feeling to the audience.' Formerly Associate Director/Choreographer of Boitano/Witt Skating tours and choreographed for a number of television specials including Ice Princess starring Katarina Witt, for HBO, and Disney's Beauty and the Beast: A Concert on Ice with Ekaterina Gordeeva, Viktor Petrenko, and Scott Hamilton, Michael continues his work in his sixth year as Choreographer and Associate Director of Discover Card Stars On Ice. He also works with amateur skating and choreographs for top professional performers, and is developing other skating and choreography projects for film, television and video. In 1996, Michael and former partner Judy Blumberg, still regarded as the finest American ice dancers ever, were inducted into the USFSA Hall of Fame
Lea Ann Miller - performance director/choreographer
Lea Ann Miller contributes her choreography and performance expertise to the Discover Card Stars On Ice tour for the seventh year. Partnered for 15 years with Bill Fauver, this 1984 Olympic team and four-time World team member enjoyed four seasons with the tour. Prior to that, Miller and Fauver performed in several distinguished companies including the John Curry Company, and the acclaimed Torvill & Dean World Tour. This performing experience, combined with Lea Ann's classical training, has earned her an outstanding reputation as one of today's formidable choreographers. Along with choreographing individual and group numbers for this tour, Lea Ann has created programs for both amateur and professional skaters for the past eight years. She has also worked with acclaimed dance master Lar Lubovitch on a theatrical skating project for television. She is in her eleventh year with the Discover Stars on Ice tour and works with the cast members on both individual and group numbers.
Jeff Billings - costume designer
Armed with an impressive list of credits, an M.f.A. in Design from New York University and a deep love for figure skating. Jef Bellings brings his enormous talents to the Discover Stars on Ice tour. Jef has thoroughly enjoyed a career that has seen him work on films, in the theater, on television productions, and on live events. while building a private client list that includes Sandy Duncan, actress Kathy Bates, singers Clint Black, Tony Tennille and Tammy Wynette. His most recent productions include a new Broadway show with Sandy Duncan, Disney's Beauty and the Beast: A Concert On Ice with Ekaterina Gordeeva, Scott Hamilton's new CBS special, Upside Down, and Andy Williams' Christmas show in Branson. He has received Emmy nominations for Nancy Kerrigan's Dreams on Ice and the series Knights and Warriors.
Ken Billington - lighting Designer
When the television industry decided to hand out the first ever ACE Award for excellence in lighting, it was presented to Ken Billington. He is an established lighting designer with more than 65 Broadway credits including Sweeny Todd, Meet Me In St. Louis, and the current musicals Chicago and Candide. He has been the principal lighting designer for Radio City Music Hall since 1979 and has worked on a full spectrum of projects that range from Las Vegas night clubs to extravagant European opera houses; from intimate New York night clubs to Fantasmic! at Disneyland. This season, he has supervised the North American tour of Riverdance - The Show. Chances are if it can be lit, Ken's already lit it. He first worked with director Sandra Bezic on the Boitano/Witt Skating tour and has enjoyed collaborating on projects ever since. This is Ken's sixth Discover Stars on Ice show.
Marvin Dolgay & Glenn Morley - music directors
Marvin and Glenn first worked with director Sandra bezic on the Boitano/Witt Skating II and Skating '92 tours. They've been collaborating ever since and this marks their sixth year as members of the Discover Stars on Ice production team. Based out of Tambre Productions in Toronto, Marvin and Glenn continue to specialize in composing scores for television and film. Their work is currently airing on all major TV networks in North America and in over 100 other countries world-wide. As well as bringing a winning and diverse musical style to Discover Stars on Ice. Marvin and Glenn have also been recognized by prestigious awayrds panels in Canada and internationally for their splendid work.
